Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about ordering, samples, shipping, and our fish.

How do I buy Amazonian Reserve products?

For the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Europe, orders are placed through our exclusive partner Atlantissea, who manages import, compliance, and delivery to your kitchen. For other regions, write to us through the contact form and we will direct you to the right supply route.

Who sends the quote and who invoices me?

Atlantissea manages quotes, pricing, orders, and invoicing for the regions it serves. Amazonian Reserve remains your direct source for everything about the farm, the fish, and the documentation behind them.

Can I request a sample or a tasting?

Yes. Professional kitchens can request a sample or reserve a tasting through the contact form. Tell us your region and what you need, and we will reply within one business day.

Is paiche really boneless?

The paiche fillet is free of intramuscular pin bones, so it portions cleanly with very little trim loss. That is one of the reasons chefs place it beside halibut and other premium white fish.

Is the fish available all year?

Yes. Paiche is farmed at origin and IQF frozen at peak condition, so quality and supply hold steady every week of the year. Doncella arrives in 2027 and the waitlist is open now.

What does the CITES listing mean for my import?

Wild arapaima is protected under CITES Appendix II. Our paiche is farmed, so every shipment travels with the required CITES export permits already in place. For your import it means a rare species with the paperwork handled.

How is the fish packed and how long does it keep?

Fillets are vacuum packed, IQF frozen, and shipped in 22 lb (10 kg) master cartons. Kept frozen at 0°F, or minus 18°C, the shelf life is 24 months.

What allergens does the product contain?

Paiche and doncella are fish, a major regulated allergen. Nothing else is added to the product. Detailed allergen and food safety documentation is available to professional buyers on request.

How does the doncella waitlist work?

Doncella launches in 2027 as the first of its kind cleared for international export. Join the waitlist through the contact form and Atlantissea will contact you ahead of general availability.
